Authenticity Over Perfection
I challenge the belief that holiness requires giving up your personality, your story, or your voice. You can be fully yourself and fully holy.
I often say, "I would rather be obedient than amazing." When people tell me how amazing I am, my answer is always the same: "Thank you, I think everyone is amazing, some just don't know it yet."
My journey began far from where I stand today. I was the "hoochy mama" - lost, broken, and searching for identity in all the wrong places. But God, in His infinite grace, met me right where I was. He didn't wait for me to become perfect; He transformed me through His perfect love.
Through studying powerful women of faith like Jael and Deborah, I learned that obedience - not performance - moves the heart and hand of God. One surrendered "yes" can indeed shift the course of history.
Today, I stand as an evangelist, author, prophetic mentor, and dynamic public speaker passionate about helping women discover freedom, healing, and their true identity in Christ.
I've had the honor of sharing stages with globally recognized leaders, including Tony Robbins and Tom Bilyeu, bringing my message of hope, restoration, and empowerment to audiences worldwide.
As the founder of "From a Hoochy Mama to a Wholly Mama" and "Faces of Epilepsy," I combine decades of life experience, prayer ministry, and personal testimony to guide women toward wholeness—spiritually, emotionally, and relationally.
Here’s a way to frame Lisa’s personal journey of redemption that honors holiness without erasing who God made her to be.
Lisa’s story reminds us that redemption does not sterilize a person. When God redeems, He does not discard the personality, the temperament, or even the history. Rather, He redeems them. He cleanses what was broken, heals what was wounded, and then reclaims it for His glory. Holiness is often misunderstood as subtraction. As though following the Lord means becoming quieter, less expressive, less creative, or less yourself. Lisa’s journey tells a different story. Holiness did not mute her voice. It refined it. It did not erase her past. It redeemed it. What once carried pain became a testimony. What once felt like weakness became a place of compassion and authority. Redemption did not make Lisa generic. It made her whole. God never asks us to surrender our story in order to be holy. Rather, He asks us to surrender our lordship over the story. With this in mind, holiness becomes alignment, not erasure. The same personality that once searched for meaning now radiates purpose. The same passion that once burned in the wrong direction now burns with holy fire. Lisa did not lose herself when she encountered the Lord. She found herself, restored and rightly ordered. This is the beauty of redemption. God does not save us by making us someone else. He saves us by making us who we were always meant to be. Our stories, when placed in His hands, become sacred ground. Our personalities, when yielded to His Spirit, become instruments of grace. Our lives, once fragmented, become living testimonies of His faithfulness. Lisa’s journey quietly proclaims this truth: holiness is not the death of identity. It is the resurrection of it.
